To do so, you will design PowerPoint, Google Slideshow, Prezi (or slideshow using another form of software) and choose one of the following options:

Option 1: Choose a text that represents an important social issue you are concerned about. The text can include anything from our syllabus this semester or something not from our reading list that you clear with me before hand. You may choose a short story, poem, song, memoir, or novel. Then, you will provide background on the text’s author, articulate the text’s central theme, demonstrate close reading of at least 2 significant passages in the text, and explain how the text relates to the social issue of importance.
Option 2: Write an original piece (poem, song, short story, narrative essay or memoir) and write a reflection that connects this original piece to one of the themes we have covered in class and how it fits and adds to the current literary canon.
