Instructions: Choose one individual within U.S. history which you believe can be held accountable for or blamed for the Civil War. The individual chosen must be before the reconstruction era. You can choose any individual besides Abraham Lincoln. This essay is to be written and formatted in the MLA style. You must include a works cited page and in-text citations throughout the essay. You must also include at minimum five scholarly sources. The essay should be written in at least 800 words and must be approved by your instructor (use the Canvas module to submit your proposals).
